Craft brewing is a growing industry and New Mexico is establishing itself as one of the top brewing destinations in the Southwest. Brewing enthusiasts will gain the skills and training necessary to enter the field or take home brewing to the next level.
Classes for Enthusiasts
CNM Ingenuity’s Brew School is a Non-Credit Continuing Education Program for Personal Development.
Brewing science is no easy task; it requires a unique set of knowledge and skills. The New Mexico craft brewing industry has a need for professionals who stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and trends. CNM has created continuing education programs to address this need for well-educated professionals who can thrive in this rapidly growing industry. We also offer related programs in wine making and plan to include future classes on spirits and distilling.
If you are a student or industry veteran who appreciates craft beer, the Brew School will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about beer styles and history.
The Brew School will not be preparing new students for careers in the beer industry. However, our partners at CNM are now offering a Brewing & Beverage Management program that may suit your professional needs.
What Makes Us Different
All of our programming is located in New Mexico and our instructors come from some of the top local breweries in town. We provide sensory analysis tastings in every workshop, and our goal is to help New Mexicans develop their familiarity with different craft beer styles.
Our enthusiast workshops are being held in Robert P. Matteucci Hall (RPM), Bistro 106, on CNM’s Main Campus on the west side of University Blvd. The RPM building is located at 723 University Boulevard SE, near the northwest corner of University Avenue and Basehart Road. Entrances to the building are on the east and north sides. (map)
We also plan to partner with local breweries in the future and offer programming offsite.
